BIC Kids: Go Make WOW!

This project marked yet another successful collaboration between The Berry Boys and myself, where I took on the task of creating illustrated assets, animating them, and compositing everything within a 3D space. 

The Challenge:

The goal of this project was to replicate the raw creativity of a child’s imagination.

We were tasked with creating illustrations and animations that looked as if they were drawn by a 5-year-old—where perspective, proportion, and clean lines don’t exist. This meant abandoning traditional artistic conventions to embrace a playful, spontaneous style.

The Solution:

To bring this vision to life, we utilized a range of animation techniques including rotoscoping, tracking, and cel animation. Each illustrated element was carefully crafted to mimic the carefree, imperfect style of a child’s drawing. These assets were then animated and composited into live footage within a 3D environment, creating a seamless blend of real-world and hand-drawn animation that captured the essence of kids creativity.
