Process – how I create an animated video

To get started it’s all about getting to know you & your brand and what it is you want to achieve:

I conduct initial research of your company to understand your message. By becoming students of your brand and target audience, I get to know your brand and your customers so I can develop your best message, and tell a better story.
We have a chat about what your want to achieve and I listen to your ideas so we can agree on a plan together.
I create a calendar schedule (call it a plan!) of the production process which I share with you and we can both keep track of the process!

2) Scripting

If you don't already have a script we start by creating this. A professional script writer will take what we've learnt to develop your message which hits your audience where it counts. The script is tailored especially for animation, in a fun and punchy style.
It's also time to create Mood Boards, where I develop a few unique visual styles for your video to give you something to choose from.

I take time to design the perfect images and artistic assets to convey your message. I make sure your images are artistic and beautiful. Beware, many freelancers cut corners here and use generic stock assets. I believe it is important to stand out and tailor artwork to your brand.
I want my clients to have a say in the creative process. This is where I create storyboards.

Yay - it's time to start animating and this is where magic happens. All of your beautiful design elements are broken down to pieces and brought to life in a fun and engaging way.
Once the animation is done this is followed by sound design and music if required to really finesse your animated explainer video.
It's time for deliver and virtual champagne! Next it's time to show your creation to the World!
